Some Easy Guide Lines to Shorten the Windows Start Time
Some easy guide lines to improve the Windows Start Up Time
There are Windows tips which require specialized software such as registry cleaner so that a user comes out of the process alive. While others can easily be done with the help of tools provided by Windows.
Its better for the user to ensure that he/she can go back to the place from where the process begins. This is crucial to deal with the situation if anything goes wrong. For this, it is very essential to set a System Restore Point.
You can initiate the process with the easy stuff
First decide whether you need those fonts installed by various programs you in use. If you dont need all of them, then delete un-used fonts.
A free font manager can assist you in performing this task.
Several programs start up with a computer system when it starts.
Some of these programs fall into the category that includes welcoming your antivirus software, firewall, etc.
But other applications come under a yourself category. The reason for keeping them in the yourself category is that you want these applications always available ready for use instead of starting them.
Programs such as the update service for Adobe Acrobat reader, some sort of instant messenger service, Skype, your webcam software, iTunes, the keylogger you installed to check your children aren’t doing naughty things, etc.
You also might be of the same opinion that it becomes convenient if these programs are always available.
Few of them could be seen next to your system clock, at the bottom of the screen. Others could be seen only upon checking the Task Manager.
Msconfig program that comes with Windows can be used to check them and dump them. Startup tab will dispay the entire list of autoloading programs which start at the time when the system boots up.
However, there is a big trouble with msconfig. It doesnt provide much detailed information. Therefore, you should do thorough research yourself to find out whether your computer actually needs applications listed in it or they are merely nice to have applications.
Besides, computers come equipped with the Windows Registry.
It serves as a dumping ground and storage area by all the programs.
Windows Registry appears to store in everything.
Usually it is the place that stores recently opened files on your menus. Windows Registry has the size and starup position of user’s favorite programs. As having excessive fonts retards the systems loading, similar is the effect of having excessive stuff in registry which is no longer in use and prevents you from having a fast Windows XP .
Even though it is feasible to clean up Windows registry through built-in Regedit program (similar steps are to be followed as in case of Msconfig), you need great tolerance level. In case anything goes wrong, Windows working may get disrupted or it may even stop to work. Thus, it is far better to get this task done by software.
